Selection of project team (September, 2019)

Teachers interviewed students who wanted to be part of the project team. They were interested in students‘ opinions about healthy lifestyle, and their readiness  to participate in all activities of the project.

Project corner at school

Student team created the project corner at school. Every month it was updated with new information about the activities of the project, so that other students, parents and school visitors could be informed.

Project logo competition at school (November – December, 2019)

Students created logos for the project, then they voted to choose 3 best of them. For more information click here.

Discussion about bad habits and their influence on students‘ lives (January 24, 2020)

Students participated in discussion about bad habits (smoking, drinking) and how it is affecting their lives. Before that, they did research and gathered information about bad habits and their influence on humans’ lives.   They also suggested possible solutions for this problem. Healthy lifestyle interviews (January – February, 2020)

Students interviewed their parents and teachers in order to find out their habits and evaluate their compliance with the criteria of a healthy lifestyle. The students created a questionnaire with 18 questions covering six healthy lifestyle categories: nutrition, recreation, physical activity, bad habits, technology usage habits and a healthy environment. These questions were asked to the selected respondents, their answers were analyzed and summarized. Information about the interviews on schools website here.

Herb garden (summer, 2020)

Project team helped to create the school’s herb garden. Now our students can grow their own food and add fresh, healthy ingredients to their daily meals.

Sports Day (September 2, 2021)

Sports day is an occasion where students, teachers, and sometimes also parents come together for a day of competitive sport. They participate in different relay races and sports disciplines. It encourages them to be physically active and spend quality time together.

Factory visit (November 24, 2021)

7th – 9th grade students met the owner of the local electricity plant to find out what impact such business has on the environment. Information about visit on school’s website here.

Warm Sweater day (February 17, 2021)

In order to save energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions, project student team asked students and teachers of our school to turn down the thermostats by 1 *C and put on a warm sweater for the day. The motto of the day is: ‘Warm yourself, not the planet.’ Warm Sweater day on school’s Facebook page here.

Earth hour (March 26,2022)

Students from the project team encouraged everyone from our school to participate. Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The event is held annually, encouraging individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights, for one hour, from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. on the last Saturday of March, as a symbol of commitment to the planet.
